There are definitely benefits and negatives to being a multi-faceted artist. Sometimes your creativity is clouded by other priorities, and other times your alternative endeavour can add incentive to your artistry. That's vague, but the increasingly popular trend of being a musician on top of something else is clear to the masses. People like Childish Gambino, or Zooey Deschanel, or even (and you probably don't know him) comedian Dom Irrera have all shown that show business can't be limited to one profession. Today I have a young musician/model who is taking this path with great force, and her name is Kacy Hill.
Kacy is a recently brought on model for American Apparel, and stunts a stellar Instagram following. But that's not what catches my eye (okay she does, but that's not the point). Her music is infectious. It retains the modern feel of ambient, bassy tracks, with vocals that are distinguishable from anyone else. The best part is that the girl is new to the scene. She's fresh, there's no prior engagements in music that would jade her output. "Experience" is one of the first tracks which Kacy made, having found herself writing music by accident.
An otherworldly vocal and futuristic production is matched by a compelling visual, inspired by the intricacies of being human and our ability to think into detail and absorb meaning behind subconscious and conscious action.
