Vaski transforms The Strokes' "Machu Picchu" into a fresh, re-discovered favorite [Premiere]

Have you heard of The Strokes? Of course you have! You’ve also probably heard of Vaski, as we featured his awesome video that accompanied his track “Weightless” not too long ago.  Well EARMILK readers, you’re getting the first listen to his stellar remix of the iconic Strokes.

“Machu Picchu” is a classic favorite, and Vaski manages to keep the backbone of the song while adding his bass-y, infectious touch. With exciting builds and drops, intermissioned by bits of the original piece, he really adds a nice contemporary vibe to the song. Yet he does this without completely overshadowing its original form; this is hard to do, especially when you’re remixing a song that wasn’t a dance tune to begin with, so it’s quite a feat! Big ups to Vaski, and we can’t wait to hear what’s next!
