Though almost 6 years passed between the start and finish of her first album, Jessie J has commanded attention since 2011 with chart-topping release after release. Last month the English pop idol dropped Sweet Talker, her third studio album that included 12 tracks, a host of revered producers, and massive collaborations with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj on "Bang Bang" and 2 Chainz on "Burnin' Up". The latter track became the second single off the release, and today finds itself in the capable hands of Danish artist KANT.
Slicing and reshaping female vocals comes as nothing new to fan-favorite DJ and producer, who has previously lent his talents to remixing the likes of MØ and Blonde. Under his careful guidance "Burnin' Up" dips and slips through billowing synth pulses, supported by minimal basslines and drumwork. This is a pop remix at its finest and a testament to KANT's ability to reconfigure one of the biggest voices in music, making it the perfect compliment to his signature downtempo style.
Listen to the track below and keep an ear out for the Burnin' Up Remixes EP, due out November 24th on Casablanca Records.
