Australian singer-songwriter Vance Joy has one album under his belt as a part of a five album deal with Atlantic Records and has already released an acclaimed single in "Riptide". At 26 years of age, James Keogh (Vance Joy) graduated from a University with a Bachelor of the Arts and Bachelor of Laws before fully dedicating his life to his musical career. Since, his career has snowballed, continually picking up pace, evident by todays announcement that he will be supporting Taylor Swift on her upcoming 1989 World Tour.
One Bit on the other hand, are a duo still in the up-and-coming stages, producing experimental electronic pop music to fuel lifting mindsets. Always maintaining a sense of progression, they push this mentality into both their remixes and original material.
Buoyant, easy-going and palatable, One Bit's remix of "Riptide" avoids many of the typical pitfalls that can be found in remixing widely popular music. Instead of drowning out the infectious vocals with blasting synth lines and an extensive bass pallet the mix treads on much lighter ground. In all the soft touch to the soundscape brings out the lighter tones in James' voice, making for a new dimension on an already strong song.
