Just yesterday fans around the world received a Sunday blessing, a sneak peek of the track list from RL Grime's freshman album VOID. Already well antiquated with "Core" & "Reminder," we all have become like small children on Christmas eve waiting restlessly to see how amazing collaborations with Boys Noize, Big Sean, and Supreme Club's own Djemba Djemba will turn out to be. Today we all might have a chance to survive a case of the Mondays as RL Grime has gifted us with another track off VOID, the hard hitting jam, "Scylla".
I never like to compare artists as no two acts journeys can never come close to being the same, like snowflakes every single sound is unique in its own way. Although "Scylla" is just as special as the whole RL Grime project, this banger will bring tears to the eyes of GTA as Grime has matched the definition of "Hard House" perfectly. "Scylla" begins with the same electric energy we all heard in "Core" building into a bass frenzy, as machines come to life in the background we get thrown into a house explosion. Like a battle of the worlds between sound and metal this track has really escalated Grime's boundaries, showing the world this isn't just a side project anymore but the future. I recently had a chance to take with Grime and in all honesty he was just most excited for the world to hear what hes been up to. As the hype continues to build on VOID we understand his excitement as this is sure to be one of the best albums of the year for bass music. Go pre-order your copy now and don't miss RL Grime curating his own stage at this year's HARD Day of the Dead.
