DC-raised, London and Brooklyn-based producer Andrew Bayer has been on our radar for some time now. His electronic productions are known for their range in sound, with albums and singles finding their home on Anjunabeats. And though his releases have been certainly enough to build an impressive and loyal fanbase, his live performances have been few and far between until now. Embarking on a 5-city Do Androids Dream tour with its first show tonight, Bayer will not only play clubs across North America, but will join Above & Beyond on their ABGT100 celebration tomorrow night at New York City's iconic Madison Square Garden. We got to chat with Bayer on his accomplishments, what's next and what he's most excited about on this tour. Check it out below.

EARMILK: What are you trying to do to differentiate yourself on this tour?

Andrew Bayer: Every time I leave for a gig, I usually have a few new exclusive mashups, re-iterations of my previous work, or bootlegs I've been working on. I did some fun ones for this tour that I'm really looking forward to testing. I also have written 3 very different pieces of music from each other and am looking forward to weaving them into my sets.

EARMILK: What are you most looking forward to?

Andrew Bayer: Playing my first full vocal track since "Keep Your Secrets."

EARMILK: How do you prep for live performances? How does venue affect that? Your mood?

Andrew Bayer: I tweak nearly every track I bring on the road. My sets are usually a combination of (mostly) what I would want to hear on the dance floor, and of course reading the floor. I'm not a juke box that people can sling quarters into, but I also acknowledge the functionality of dance music, and wouldn't go out there and play my favorite contemporary classical records for 3 hours.

EARMILK: How did you find out that you were of interest to support Above & Beyond for ABGT100? How are you feeling about the show?

Andrew Bayer: My manager told me and I was extremely surprised! I'm dying. It's Madison Square Garden. I think anyone would be!!

EARMILK: A lot has happened for you in your career since we last spoke. You've explored a lot of avenues of music, collaborated under the Artificial name – how has this changed you? What else is in the works?

Andrew Bayer: I learn a ton from collaborating with people, which I do both for my artist career and also as a producer. It's an incredible feeling working with people who challenge you, and you them. I'm working on a bunch of stuff with an incredible vocalist at the moment that will be debuted on my tour and at MSG!
