Sometimes, genre labels don't do an artist justice. We throw terms like hip hop and dance music around, but what do they actually account for in regards to the amount of new music that's being released in droves on a daily basis? Is it our need to compartmentalize everything we hear and manage the mental discomfort that comes up when you listen to groundbreaking music for the first time? Rather than succumb to our own psychological barriers, we need to unplug, let loose, and enjoy the music for what it's worth. Such is the case with Edmontonian duo Tennyson, and their latest track, "With You." On the surface, it's experimental, jazzy and "future"–whatever that means–but for 18 year old Luke and his 15 year old sister Tess, their brand of free flowing, quirky tunes have catapulted them into new territories, most notably a co-sign from fellow Canadian Ryan Hemsworth.
