Australian production duo Mansionair are set to drop their Hold Me Down EP, a collection of remixes for their hit song of the same name. The original is a beautiful, shadow-tinged pop ballad, balancing guest singer Revier's voice with DARKSIDE-esque guitar riffing and lonely synth swells. It's in no hurry, spending six minutes in what feels like quiet contemplation.
Along with contributions from The Range and Maths Time Joy, the Hold Me Down EP features a nice deep house rework of the title track courtesy of young German producer LCAW. He takes the calculated simplicity of the original and cooks up a re-energized house version, so seamless and natural it hardly feels like a remix at all when heard on its own. While The Range is the surprising big name on the EP, LCAW and Mansionair both seem to be poised for big things. The Hold Me Down EP is out October 14 in the US.
