There are times when you need a break from your nine to five hustle, or are in need of something smooth. So what do you do? You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild, or maybe you reach for something a little more herbal. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind and recline. This is for when you need to close your eyes and drift. We are just your milkmen and we're here to make a delivery. This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve, so lay back and chill…
Today's delivery is brought to you by Tom Misch. He's a young beatsmith with an unusual producing ear. More often than not, the younger generation is bound to those heavy hitting EDM face melters with so much saturated bass you could literally spread it on sandwich. But that's not Misch. He's keen on keeping things low key and clean, like his latest tune "On My Mind".
There isn't anything very complex about this particular song. There's a simple drum kit beat in holding the foundation down, while muffled brass repeatedly interjects in a timely fashion. There's also the lackadaisical vocal that brings a major mellow factor into play along with a nice little groovy guitar solo towards the end of the tune to tie things off nicely. And if you listen closely, he also includes a little beat-boxing which gives it a nice little edge of creativity. With these elements coming, together, "On My Mind" makes for a song that you can't help press the play button over and over.
So sit back and watch the leaves turn…
