It's always refreshing to hear an up-and-coming singer-songwriter put their own flair and take on another singer's work, especially one as talented as Manhattan-based singer Jeffrey dè Soul. For those of you who may not know of the singer, Soul in the past months has been building up a steady catalog of tracks and features which showcase his signature electronic/R&B style. His most recent release to-date is actually his strongest feature yet. The track, "Summer In The Hamptons" by Juan Cristobal, is an ode to the the Hampton's during the summer archetype that  we all dream about experiencing at one point of our lives. The young artist affirms his singing ability on the track as he croons nimbly over an airy guitar riff, exuding almost The Weeknd-esque vibes.

Now detached from the music scene for the last five months, due to his personal immersion in the development of his debut EP, Soul is back with new material in the form of a remix of Tink's hit track "Treat Me Like Somebody". The Sound of Rain artist navigates the Tink's track perfectly, which is not surprising seeing as the instrumental features a acoustic guitar riff much like that of "Summer In The Hamptons," as he sing about a certain toxic individual who guises themselves as a "close friend". The subject matter is very relatable, being that we all have dealt with a toxic individual at one point of our lives, and sadly sometimes that individual is a friend. By sharing his own experiences, Soul opens himself up as a person, a action that has become common suit in the world of R&B.

With that said, Jeffrey dè Soul is on the right track in becoming a recognizable, and moreover, stand out name in the ever-saturated array of artists that make up Soundcloud.
