Lido gives us a taste of dark luxury in "Money" [Video]

21-year-old Norwegian producer, Lido, hardly needs an introduction. He is one of the most talked about and admired artists right now, continuing to consistently impress the music community. Lido’s I Love You EP, which came out via Pelican Fly, has been buzzing all summer, and now he’s dropped an official video for the standout track “Money.” This video oozes dark luxury, in a palace-like setting adorned by gold, marble, and of course, money, raining money. Whether the combination of skulls, money, and fast food pervaded by burning flames is sending a subliminal message, director Jam Sutton effectively translates Lido’s Midas touch into an opulent visual masterpiece. The video closes with a disquieting image of a skull inscribed with “Omnia Mors Aequat,” a quote by Claudian, one of the great Classical poets, that translates as “Death makes all things equal.”
