After releasing the Michael Jackson-inspired "Stranger" a few months ago, Chris Malinchak is back to house with the chilled out "Happiness," featuring London-based wunderkind MNEK. The track is a bit late for summer, but is the perfect tune for reminiscing on your sun-soaked summer fun. It also makes for a great pick-me-up on a chilly fall day.
In true Malinchak form, the song blends a downtempo beat with percussion, drum machine and MNEK's distinct vocals. Ambient synthesizers and light piano notes become a part of the equation and subtly drive the track to its conclusion, leaving out any hints of house's typical aggression. It sounds a bit like a laid back cousin of Malinchak's debut single "So Good To Me," using a broader array of lyrics to evoke the same tender sentiment.
Judging by his past releases, we can probably expect another Malinchak tune sometime this winter. Until then, extend your summer for as long as you can with "Happiness."
