FKA twigs' new album LP1 is one of the best of the year so far, despite also being in the running for most boring album title. "Video Girl" is one of the standout tracks, not only for the stunning musical prowess but also because of the window it provides into her past, when she was a regular in other artists' music videos. Despite having a pretty cool job, twigs wasn't satisfied until she was the subject of the videos thank you very much.
So it's fitting that relatively unknown producers AtillA and The Good Boy, aka Hercules Handsome, were inspired to do a remix of the track. They send an already-powerful performance even further skyward, adding a slightly more party-oriented production twist on the original, more serious version. LP1 is a lot of things – pretty, weird, moving – but rarely is it fun, that's not what it's aiming at. Still, it's an album begging to be remixed, and here Hercules Handsome are delivering the goods.
