Today I was put on by an artist I've never heard before. Fei-Fei is a female producer based out of LA who's one to watch in the upcoming months. It's extremely refreshing to hear more and more producers striving to bend the social norms of what music should be, and Fei-Fei’s original tune titled “Little White Lies” has done just that.
Fei-Fei takes beautifully grooved ambient sounds, flocculent melodic tones, and de-tuned vocals, to neatly complement a big sub that gives the song all the elements to create a future bass smash. 808s are an amazing tool in music, and in this track they are also displayed with utter perfection, which just adds to how impressive Fei-Fei is. Personally, I can't wait to hear more from her, and I'm hoping for sooner rather than later.
