The expectations that come with being the first artist deadmau5 followed on Soundcloud are quite high, but it’s safe to say that over the past year mau5trap’s rising star eekkoo has smashed through all of them.
He released his self-titled debut EP in December 2013, and pumped out a sleek, progressive monster called “Towers” in April. Having also remixed the likes Wolfgang Gartner & deadmau5's "Channel 42," and more recently Australian band The Presets, eekkoo is back with a vengeance. This time, he’s welcoming newcomer Enzo Bennet into the mau5trap family with a massive remix for “Colours” off the French producer’s debut EP.
With a penchant for dark and powerful progressions, eekkoo’s "Dark Remix" is another clear illustration of the Canadian’s affinity for rich sound design and vibrant soundscapes. Confidently exploring new realms of sound with every release, eekkoo’s music sounds like no other.
