tabi Bonney is a name I caught a few years back during the time leading up to Trillectro Festival out in DC. It was his track “Time Of Her Life” Feat. Fat Trel that caught my ear. It was something unique both production wise and vocally. Shoot to three years later and tabi’s name has come across my inbox once again.
Today EARMILK has the pleasure of premiering the DC native’s single “Poom Poom” and I’m pretty damn excited about it. To put it simply “Poom Poom” is what hip-hop sounds like when it meets a funky electronic bassline. Known best for his odd cadences and pitch-‐bending inflections, tabi is breaking his own ground in his own way. Currently residing over on the West Coast tabi has been busy teaming up with a slew of producers to hone in on a new electro-‐pop sound and his introduction track today is definitely exemplary of that notion. No further introductions are needed to tabi’s 2.0 sound, just give it a spin because this is certainly a catchy and fun record that should be put on rotation this summer.
