It seems like recently the city of New York has been dominating the hip hop headlines. From G-Unit reforming back at Summer Jam a few weeks ago, to more recently Bobby Shmurda blowing up the scene with his banger "Hot Nigga", NY has been stomping all over the scene in recent weeks.
This week we were treated to a hot new track from upcoming Bronx emcee Doley Bernays, when he dropped his latest single "Prey". Taken from his forthcoming Bond Place Hotel EP, which he put together with the help of Jordan Evans & Matthew Burnett (who previously worked on Drake's "Pound Cakes" and Eminem's "Not Afraid"), "Prey" is a short but sweet anthem for anyone who has people hating on them and their work. The joint features an eerie sample based beat, with some hard kicks and some slick percussion patterns, making you nod your head instantly. Doley rides the beat with ease, passing through with easy to digest flow that allows him to get his lyrical content over in a simple and efficient way.
You can stream the bangin' "Prey" below, and be sure to keep your eyes peeled on August 26th, when Doley releases his highly anticipated Bond Place Hotel EP.
