Abel Tesfaye a.k.a The Weeknd has been making colossal waves since he first made noise with his debut mixtape House Of Balloons. From that point until the present day he's continued to grow, and his full length major label album Kiss Land split critics and fans alike (I personally thought it was a great project). His most recent works have both been remixes, one of Beyonce's "Drunk In Love" and one of the biggest tracks in rotation at the moment, Ty Dollar Sign's "Or Nah".
This week we've been blessed with a brand new joint from the Toronto native, in the shape of "Often". Backed by an outlandish beat, which has become his signature sound, Abel drops a couple of typically raunchy verses, with the sexually charged lyrical content riding along the same lines as a lot of his previous work, meaning both long standing & new fans will be able to get into this joint straight away. The whole vibe of "Often" sounds like, in my opinion, an extra cut from his earlier mixtapes, reverting back to his older sound instead of the darker, electronic vibes of Kiss Land. Could this be the direction he takes his next project in?
You can stream and download "Often" below, and be sure to keep your eyes and ears locked to EARMILK for all the latest Abel, including any news on his forthcoming album.
