Multi-talented UK producer Jamie xx has been on quite a roll in 2014 so far. The London native, who's part of the hugely popular group The xx, has already released the massively successful AA sided hit "Girl/Sleep Sound", with "Girl" becoming one of my favourite tracks released this year so far.
This week saw Jamie release another new jam for us all to sink our teeth into, with the aptly named "All Under One Roof Raving". Made whilst he was on tour with The xx, "All Under One Roof Raving" is a straight up dancefloor smasher, with hard, pumping kicks accentuated by shuffling percussion and reverb touched snappy snare hits. All of this is placed underneath a carnival-esque steel drum sample, which gives the track a bright, sunny vibe about it, whilst still maintaining a dark and dingy dancefloor persona via the gritty bass-lines. The song also has some UK rave scene vocal samples, taken from live sets, that fits in perfectly with the kind of vibe Jamie was going with on this jam.
