Today we're excited to premiere up-and-coming artist Birthday Boy's future funk remix of the Mary J. Blige classic, "Family Affair". Eoin McManus, aka Birthday Boy, is a Toronto based producer/DJ who has only been using his moniker for about two months. Despite this relatively short timespan, Birthday Boy has already received significant coverage and headlined Noisey's "Summer Vacation" event at Toronto's Weldon Park on May 31st, alongside bizZarh and NDMA. Heavily compared to Montreal's Kaytranada, word on the street is that Birthday Boy is likely to be the "next big thing" out of Canada in his genre.
Birthday Boy's rework of "Family Affair" has a funky, summery sound, which he has personally referred to as "after-hours funk". The track is a fun, 90's throwback, perfect for summer nights in the club.
