Hypercolour dances deep with Alex Jones' 'Antigua' [EP Premiere]

Hypercolour is one of those labels that, since its inception, has managed to consistently deliver some of the hottest house music coming out of London today. Whether we talk about early releases from Glimpse to Kris Wadsworth – which take us back to the label's roots – or read about the recent buzz caused by artists like Huxley and Maya Janes Cole, there is no denying the fine job label founders Alex Jones and Jamie Russell have done to keep the label alive and well. But aside from all the A&R business and his project as one half of Dense & Pika, producer and DJ Alex Jones has kept busy preparing his next move for the label; another solo EP.

Antigua graces house fans with enough soul, jazz, and rhythm to loosen up even the stiffest pair of legs. Beginning with a sultry jazz-infused session, title track "Antigua" packs a hammering dose of kicks that thump to elevating extents. Hitting the track's midpoint, we get gaseous vocals supported by a dubbed meter you cannot escape from. "Igor" hops into a whimsical  hap that mixes creative cricketing samples with a compelling gospel chorus that carries the track benevolently. "Frizza" reverts to a more Dense & Pika-esque affair with its gritty nature and properly managed effects that finally stables to a basement groove. Jones has surely compiled a three-way affair here that will keep this gem on replay no matter what mood you're in.

Out June 9th be sure you grab your copy of Alex Jones' Antigua,  but before all that check out the exclusive stream the fellas over at Hypercolour hooked us up with!
