Introducing Black Hole Recordings's latest roster addition Pōston and his first release [+ Merch Giveaway]

Being firmly established like like trance's Black Hole Recordings allows a label to act like a family to artists. Playing host to heavy hitting artists like Manufactured Superstars and Ferry Corsten, BHR also has the opportunity to put its faith in the newest and best talent, with its veteran members passing on knowledge and experience to newbies and vice versa. This week we've been introduced to BHR's latest addition to their roster: Pōston. Hailing from Oklahoma, the Dallas-based dance producer and DJ has landed his first single to be released June 9th on the label alongside seasoned trance vocalist Lizzie Curious. Take a listen to "Stranded" and meet Pōston below.

As an additional bonus, Black Hole Recordings is so psyched about the addition of Pōston that we've got a special giveaway from them to celebrate his arrival. They've released a special DVD entitled Projections, and it features 15 music videos from some of its biggest and best must-have releases. You can win a copy of it below!

EARMILK: How did you link up with Black Hole Recordings?
Pōston: Actually one of my best friends is a publicist and artist manager (and now my manager), so since he works with a lot of labels it was kind of a luck of the draw. We’ve been working on getting my music together for two and a half years now, so I feel fortunate and grateful to be a part of an A-list label. I know it was a tossup between BHR and another pretty big label, which was a pretty cool feeling, but we went with BHR. I’m super stoked about that, as the “other label” has kinda moved away from trance, but Black Hole is embracing their roots.
EARMILK: What did you want to accomplish with this release and what are you looking forward to doing in the future?
Pōston: Hopefully “Stranded” will resonate with listeners with the lyrics and atmosphere Lizzie (Curious) & I tried to create. I was such a huge fan of “Departures” that she did with Robbie Rivera and Cosmic Gate, and I kind of wanted to do a “Part 2” with my own style and twist, of course. I think she nailed it. She’s such a strong writer, which is rare these days.
I want to release music that people can relate to and that they’ll remember for years to come. Strong lyrics with a solid, catchy vocal often resonates with listeners more than a huge instrumental club banger. Looking ahead, I’m definitely looking forward to my next single with Linnea Schössow (“The Sky” with Mat Zo, “Fire Fire Fire,” etc.) entitled “You & Me,” which will also be out on Black Hole later this summer. Stay tuned for that one! I’m excited for people to hear my first guest mix for Black Hole Radio which airs on Tuesday the 17th on Digitally Imported. I’ve got a few hidden gems and couple of IDs, so definitely tune in to that! Thanks for the support!
