Taylor McFerrin and friends impress with jazzy cut "Already There"

Taylor McFerrin, a rising talent on Flying Lotus’s Brainfeeder label, has been steadily releasing tasty samples from his forthcoming debut LP Early Riser, out June 3rd. For his latest cut, “Already There,” he’s enlisted bass wizard Thundercat and Grammy Award–winning jazz pianist Robert Glasper. Together they form a hyper-talented trio, unleashing a flurry of cosmic jazz reminiscent of the late Brainfeeder pianist Austin Peralta.

McFerrin’s last two tracks were based around female vocals, so the instrumental “Already There” is a testament to his seemingly endless versatility. He has the potential to become one of Brainfeeder’s big names, a like-minded multi-instrumentalist among their trademark mystical beatmakers. Early Riser’s release date is right around the corner, prepare yourself. Don’t forget to check out McFerrin’s prior tracks “Decisions,” and “The Antidote.”
