Seemingly out of nowhere a new sub-genre has been forming. Pushing a sound that falls somewhere in between experimental electronica and soul, downtempo cues fuel soundscapes that will carry you into the clouds, as slow-churned vocals fill out the whole-hearted vibe. With artists like Låpsley and Crystal Castles having set the pace, they haven't necessarily ironed out a specific path, leaving a broad area open for interpretation.
This is where Lüthian falls, a Vancouver based female artist that is just beginning what is sure to be a fulfilling journey. This is evident by her newest release, entitled "Soon", which begins with a slow pace, but quickly morphs into a full-on head rush. Lüthian utilizes "Soon" to differ from her contemporaries, where a heavy drop takes on an almost dubstep feel which is pulled back with a slow shifting beat that that can be found throughout.
