Sam O’neill aka TCTS is a producer and DJ from Manchester, UK, and has continued to impress with every new release. His most recent track, “You," is a soft and minimalistic track featuring the warm vocals of Sam Sure that I think I’ve finally listened to this enough times to say how touching it is. It has everything a perfectly executed song needs, and balances them with careful harmony. Just from the first few seconds, it is completely enrapturing, and though the bassline is heavy, Sam’s vocals bring everything together to an engaging equilibrium.
I was very surprised with this track since it seemed so particular and personal, something I can’t say about many recent tracks I've listened to. The lyrics certainly add to this, but the spaciousness and subtleties all combine to make this a listen that requires constant repetition in order to appreciate it fully. It’s like a good book, with every listen there’s a new element that was maybe overlooked, and like any good book you don’t want it to end. It will be interesting to see what TCTS does next, but this track is a winner for sure!
