The Australian Miami Horrors pairs nicely with producer Cleopold on the track “Colours In The Sky.” Featured on the original, Cleopold has only these two releases, but he hit it out of the park with his remix. The chillwave interpretation fits nicely with Moriarty and Shanahan’s vocals.
While the original had piano, strings, and bright bass like a disco track, the remix is delayed and reverbed. The track is smoky and nebulous. An arpeggiated bass and high melodic chorus lead stabilize the track, while a pulsing wall of synth and distant vocals take the track off-kilter. “Colours In The Sky” balanced perfectly the fraying and winding of a cassette tape. This track can be your comedown or your takeoff – your choice.
