Over the weekend, STHWST released their 4th volume of forward-thinking beats from around the internet, but they seem to be trying something different this time around. The collection comes in two parts, V4.0.1 and V4.0.2, and dons a cover from the point of view of an underwater radar scanning an unidentifiable object – as opposed to the minimal color-schemed covers of previous volumes. The new releases are extremely varied, featuring new music from founder Chindamo with Good Intent, Miami club hypeman Snappy Jit, oddball duo Danny Doberman, and an autotuned serenade from beatsman hokes. Both volumes also feature members from rising Atlanta collective Tomahawk Chop Squad, including DJ Xemnas with Boy Jamez, Ba-kuura, Krimslo and Branstone. With 19 tracks, there's sure to be something to take away from Volume 4, but you'll probably like all of it.
