Chris Malinchak brings out the "Freak" in us all

New York City’s Chris Malinchak usually opts for the smooth, laid-back, and tropical vibes, a la “So Good To Me” and his two previous releases “Forever” and “Call My Name.” This time around, he’s turning up the deep and tech house energy for a massive track that will destroy the dance floor this summer.

His new track “Freak” reminds me of two of my favorite Malinchak tracks, “Get Back” and “All Shook Up.” Between the bass and the aggressive bounce of the beat, it conjures up some serious booty shakin’. “Freak” starts off with crisp beats and filtered soulful vocals like we’d expect, then it takes a sudden turn into something kind of dark and definitely a little dirty.

Malinchak was apparently sitting on this for a while before he posted it online. As for the future, it looks like he’s teaming up with singer Mikky Ekko for a forthcoming single, but there’s no word on a date for anything. Until then, grab your free download of “Freak” and wait patiently for more soulfully delicious tracks from Mr. Malinchak.
