Hot Mom USA is a label founded and managed by the legendary DMC Champion Shiftee. Their releases so far have showcased the best of global bass music with an eccentric and unique direction including RX, Depthcharge, Ladyman, Siyoung, Doctor Jeep, Spooky, Mr. Mitch, and more.
Cakes Da Killa's "I Run This Club" dropped September of 2013 and has already become a New York City party anthem. Curl Up's remix, featured on the upcoming "I Run This Club" Remixes EP, especially stood out to me. Curl Up has a reputation for creating intricate soundscapes over perfectly matched percussion. His rework truly takes the original tune to the next level. There's also a guitar riff used throughout the remix that took me back to the days of "Streets of Rage", very epic sounding stuff. The remix EP drops on May 12, 2014 so make sure to check back in and snag it when it drops because there is some serious club banging heat packed into it.
