When we premiered the debut single from a little known rapper called Asante, back in March, it went down a treat with you guys! The way the young emcee calmly spat his lyrics with a supremely cool flow was further accentuated by the clever use of autotune for the incredibly catchy hook, which reminded me of some of the earlier Kanye West work on 808's & Heartbreaks.
Well this week Asante is back and this time he's premiering the chillingly cold visuals for that debut track, "Show Me The War". As the title suggests, the London native has gone down the war route, but instead of focusing on all out conflict, he's instead chose to show the war that goes on behind closed doors, as the rapper is tied to a chair and beaten and tortured by his 'enemies'. Directed by Ebeneza Duodo, the video serves as a perfectly deep and dark visual aid to the lyrical content that Asante possesses in this track.
You can peep the visuals for "Show Me The War" below, and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for any news of a debut project from the young Londoner.
