I spent this past weekend in Vegas, and so you can be sure that my level of decibels were exceeded by a long shot. I needed something soothing for the long ride back to San Diego, and on that recovery playlist was one of my favorites from March, the Royal remix of Flight Facilities' "Crave You." It served as a satisfying therapy for my deeply damaged ear drums, from the Strip to back home. Much to my fortune, I woke up this morning to an email from his team looking to premiere his new remix of New York based LOLO's "Weapon for Saturday."
The Maryland based producer, Royal, is off the walls with his past few drops. I'm glad to be premiering his stuff, it gives me that upper connection to an artist that really helps me see his future a bit clearer. He's a great dance inducer, but with a soft, silky touch that caresses the ears. Sounds a bit too indulgent and cliche for a music blogger to say, but I can't help but feel a certain kind of comfortability in his edits. His LOLO remix is another great stepping stone to stardom, as we can expect his path to inevitably lead there.
"Weapon for Saturday" is out now. Take a listen to this one now and make sure you check out his other joints on Soundcloud. Long live Royal and his decadent sounds.
