It's finally here! State of Mind's massive 15-track explosive drum 'n' bass album has arrived and it's heavier than we ever thought possible. Alluded to in our February review of their preemptive two-track release, Eat The Rich lives up to and exceeds the expectations we had for the current state of drum 'n' bass. We commend the group's ability to maintain the style's original intention and skankability. With music steering in the direction of chill and mellow lately, it is relieving to see artists sticking to the heavyweight roots of hardcore drum 'n' bass.
Known for their driving basslines, jittery drums, and wide range of hard-hitting synths, State Of Mind took Eat The Rich as an opportunity to incorporate vocals into the already hearty mix. The album features singer Sacha Vee, New Zealand rapper PerciEve, and MC legends Codebreaker and MC Dino, with special production appearances by Black Sun Empire and Nymfo. In its entirety, Eat The Rich is a skanker's dream album that will easily destroy any dancefloor given the proper audience.
