It's been a while since I've come across a voice that touches me in the way that Kwabs' does. A singer/songwriter who calls London home, Kwabs, who off the stage goes by Kwabena Sarkodee Adjepong, has a sound that is the epitome of soul, but a darker, more modern version it. Clairvoyant in sound and message, "Something Right," the introductory track to his forthcoming EP Love, is a ballad of a universal human experience, relaying into our sound waves the tug of war between doubts over our own capabilities and our urges to break down the walls that hold us and transcend our fears. This song has grandness. You can hear it its descending synths, fervent lyrics, and chill-inducing quality. The track was produced by Vienna-based electro-soul master, SOHN, and is just another one of the beautiful ornaments on Kwabs' Christmas tree of emotive and powerful melodies.
Released in February of the is year, his pleasingly poignant EP, Wrong or Right, is a 4 track masterpiece that you should listen to on Spotify and buy here on iTunes.
