With the afterglow of Ultra Music Festival and Miami Music Week still slowly slipping away, the festival season continues to push on, and, of course, the releases never stop. This time we have a true veteran on the decks, the German electronic producer known as Da Hool, born as Frank Tomiczek and who also goes by his other alias, Hooligan. If the name still isn't familiar, then his international mega-hit, "Meet Her At The Love Parade", surely must be. Since it dropped back in 1997, the track has become an anthem, spawning a wealth of remixes and edits, including Gareth Emery's "Meet Her In Miami" just last year.
Going for a much different feel than the late 90s classic, Hooligan amps up his presence with a driving electro house track, "The Doorkeeper". In it you find a steady marching tempo, along with a prominent, electro mid that hits on the beat and carries the track's progression. Layered on top of this, Colee Royce adds some humor to the vocal break by discussing the merits (or lack thereof) of the industry's hardest profession: the doorkeeper (aka the bouncer). With both edgy and rounded qualities, the track could fit into a climbing, festival-frenzied set or work its way into an multi-genre electro mix. Look for it on April 18th, where it will be releasing as a 2-week Beatport exclusive off Ultra Records.
