allatus / / Crafts Hypnotic Remix Of Låpsley's "Alaskan Dreams" [Premiere]

After stumbling upon a young, mysterious allatus / / Soundcloud page with only three tracks uploaded, I got lost in a sonically-induced daydream. Stylized allatus / /, the 19 year-old UK producer is armed with more than just Ableton and the two slashes following his moniker. He's an ambient producer experimenting with skeletal, expansive beats marked by underlying electronic elements. When he told me he recently completed a remix of Låpsley's "Alaskan Dreams," there was instantly a thought of how well the two would match up – clearly evidenced by the song below.

Sonically, allatus / / holds similarities to Jack Colleran (known as Irish electronica wiz MMOTHS), which is why it's not surprising to learn that Colleran's the inspiration behind the Brit's desire to make music in the first place. He's got some room to develop and holds promise of greater things to come. Taking Låpsley's "Alaskan Dreams" from the burgeoning artist/producer's Monday EP, allatus / / strips away most of the vocals, leaving a roomy haze for skittering percussion and a looping sample.
