There is nothing like some sweet deep vibes to get you through your mid week. There’s a certain sound circulating through the British scene these days. The recent success of acts like Disclosure and Detroit Swindle is carrying a wave of deep underground house music with strong square basslines and filter swept analog jazz chords. London-residing Billon has been around for less than a year, and they’ve been involved in three releases that show the true colours of deep house. Out on the 24th is their new four track Meditate EP on Rinse, which has gotten great reception. Their transitions are seamless, and their ability to build and release tension is immaculate. There are hints of this record that seem to draw influence from Disclosure directly, one can only assume the young duo is inspiring great artists like these. The lead synths in the second track “Broken” are filled with warmth and power. Listen below.
