SXSW submerged us in synth and our brains are still buzzing in the electro aftermath, so suffice it to say, we were way overdue for some good old fashion rock & roll. As if on cue, bi-coastal band Fire & The Romance’s second official release “She’s a Devil” enters the scene, and we’ve found our indie rock reprieve.
The track seduces like an early Maroon 5 ballad with the power-pop magnetism of The Killers, and the band's brainchild/singer-songwriter Dion Roy’s voice croons “I took the fall” over an infectious bass line. And we follow his lead, falling for the familiar "bad girl at a bar" theme and radio-ready catchy chorus hooks.
We premiered the video for "Way Down Below" earlier this month, and are eager for the visual interpretation of "She's a Devil" coming soon, as well as the release of FT&R's debut EP Adaptations slated for Summer 2014.
