YC the Cynic and Homeboy Sandman have come together to collaborate on a new version of "The Heaviest Cross" and the result is a stunning work that highlights both of their incredible talents. The track was released earlier last year in Cynic's GNK, a critically acclaimed album that should have gotten more attention that it did.
Homeboy Sandman also brings his a-game to the mix with his frustrations in the music business and the lag that comes with staying true to his identity, rather than trying to win the hip hop popularity contest. Either way, both artists have incredible and distinct talent- from YC's lisp-embedded flow to Sandman's fast rhymes- and are sure to be getting the recognition they both deserve very soon, at least from the people that matter.
Check out the original solo version via YC's music video, along with the 2.0 version, which is available for free download via Soundcloud.
