I love when a song is instantly something I know I will be playing for the next few months. It's love at first sight, or "you had me at hello" but in musical form. This new Royal remix of Flight Facilities' "Crave You" is the first remix since DJ Premier's edit of "Latch" to really sweep me off of my feet.
The 21 year old D.C. native last stunned me with his "Fine China" remix, a song that initially caught my attention. He seems to have a distinct melting pot of congo, jersey club, house, and Cashmere Cat-esque sounds, all poured strategically over prime song choices. "Crave You" has always been one of my favorite songs, and it's cool to see it in a new nature. The more fast paced yet smooth piano is a nice touch to a somewhat commonly dubstep approach.
You can grab this one for free now, and don't take it for granted. The kid's going to get bigger, you're gonna wish you kept all those for historical measures. But seriously, show some love, and groove on.
