Known for top-notch production and experimentation in beat blending, the anonymously claimed and Australian electronic pop and hip hop group known as Hoodlem is out with a beautifully soulful exposition of the often permeable relationship between ex, lover, and friend. Angelic vocals and and a lingering guitar create the soft aesthetics that mix with jagged and ornate electronic touches to make this 4 minute piece of audible lust incredibly effective. Based out of inner-city Melbourne, the group members remain flirtatiously anonymous, but with compelling productions like "Old Friend," "Firing Line" and "Through," people, including me, are going to want to know to what names they can direct their praises to soon. Hoodlem will be performing at the Canadian Music Week in early May, so to any and all who will be in attendance, I suggest getting your glimpse of this enigmatic group.
