Young Bristolian rapper ThisisDA has been making huge waves this past year. Having graced our pages on many occasions, with tracks such as "Lifers", "Gridlock" and "Trippin", when word came out that he was working towards making an album, fans and critics alike were overcome with excitement.
With the project nearing completion, and release dates floating about (before swiftly being put back), it seemed that we would have to wait an eternity for Super Arkane to drop. Well, this week, as February draws to a close, the UK emcee finally dropped the project on us, and it doesn't disappoint. The album is seventeen tracks deep, and is all about those authentic hip hop flavours. Whilst we've been accustomed to the more trap style of rap music lately, ThisisDA sticks to what he loves and delivers a beautifully articulate project that showcases both his knack for wordplay, and a flow that demonstrates a complex, yet easy to digest style. Another interesting fact about this album is that DA has only one guest feature, songstress Temz, meaning the rest of the album is entirely his own work. The beats are all provided by friend and long term collaborator Mankub, who brings his own, 'real hip hop' touch to the album.
You can stream Super Arkane in its entirety below (visit his soundcloud for specific track times), and you can also download the album for FREE, from this link.
