Disco Fries caught the electronic music scene's attention last year with the riveting electro/progressive track "Open Your Eyes", one that shone through a simple, but effective, melody and unyielding grinds. The song definitely goes down as one of my favorites from 2013, on top of their stellar collaboration with Tommie Sunshine and Kid Sister, "Cool Without You", both of which received serious remix attention. No surprise then that the New York City duo return to the decks for the highly-anticipated Musical Freedom release "Philtrum", the preview of which has already grabbed almost 40,000 plays in just two weeks. Traces of "Open Your Eyes" can be heard in the track's epic, melodic breaks, but wobbly electro drops turn it into a monster of its own.
