Ed Thomas has been making himself known in the realm of futuristic R&B since the release of his single "Hurt" and has now treated us to a solid body of work with On My Own EP. A five track silky expression of soulful vocals and 80's inspired synths moulded around half time beats. The EP begins with the title track "On My Own" which quickly familiarises the listener with off beat bass slaps and crispy synth pads glueing together the production and supporting the emotive vocals. Next up is a definite highlight of the EP, "Outlaws" offers up filtered chords and deep bass reminiscent of Drake and The Weeknd with Ed once again providing instantly recognisable vocal hooks that will no doubt be stuck in your head for weeks.
