LA based R&B artist Jon E.K. has released new single “Those Eyes,” as a follow up to his last burner track “Crumble,” which was featured recently on the indie newsletter Pigeons & Planes. One of a select group of artists on the Danger Village PR company roster, E.K, has invented his own personal brand of sexed up electronic R&B in accordance with the current trends of smooth, $20 cocktail sipping soul and club music. Pigeons & Planes described his music as having the, “Ability to seamlessly transition from soulful verse to hook-driven chorus in a way that feels natural, while still being entirely enticing.
But there is something different on “Those Eyes,” and perhaps it is the more old school FutureSex-style crooning chorus cleverly produced by Mike “WUFF” Wofford that sets it apart in the sprawling Los Angeles industry. This sexed up number, filled with powerful, electronically driven beats underneath the seductive R&B surface is the outlook on Future-Sex sounds in 2014.
