Emerald Soul releases a journey of a debut with "Stare" [Download]

An emerald, as the birthstone for May, is said to symbolize rebirth as well as providing a sense of foresight in those to which it's connected.  This, in addition to his love for the Zelda and Sonic series (with their own respective Kokiri and Chaos Emeralds), inspired Imran Naim to deem himself an Emerald Soul; a fitting moniker for his new personal explorations into music production.  As it began to snow, possibly rendering the streets of Atlanta where he lives useless for the second time this year, Imran released his first song under this name, giving his creative spirit a new beginning.

"Stare" is a musical journey of sorts, beginning with sweeping chords down a digital vibraphone before being carried by a bass-heavy beat that twists and turns.  The mood then sonically descends into a cave, before arising in the vividly detailed outro like a phoenix from the flames.  This track is the first single on an EP to be released later on in 2014, but Emerald Soul has given us a lot to hold onto until then.

Download "Stare" on Bandcamp or Soundcloud.
