Giraffage takes listeners back in time as he pays homage to one of his musical inspirations, The Dream. Transforming the R&B legend's 2007 Love/Hate into a bootleg remix album, the San Francisco-based producer delivers a noteworthy LP to say the least. Starting off with his bass driven trap tendencies, Giraffage aka Charlie Yin brings listeners the previously released "Shawty Is The Shit" before unveiling the dark leaning "I Luv Your Gurl". Switching it up with a bit more energy than we expect from the bass heavy producer, "Fast Car" and "Purple Kisses" veer into the sounds of R&B inspired house, while "Falsetto" and "Playin' In Her Hair" highlight the power of '90s slow jams.
Calling the original Love/Hate LP "one of the most underrated albums of the 2000s", Giraffage gives life back to a forgotten gem with his rendition. Available as a free download via his Soundcloud page, this one truly showcases the versatility of the rising producer.
