Australia based EDM quintet Gold Fields have released a new remix of “Vulnerable,” by Tinashe this week, and it leaves the group anything but vulnerable to attack. Members Mark Robert Fuller, Vinci Andanar, Luke Peldys, Rob Clifton, and Ryan D’Slyva have been putting out a steady stream of remixes, originals, and collaborations since 2010, and released their debut album Black Sun for download on iTunes last February. Their remix of “Vulnerable,” certainly surrenders to the power of classic house seduction, and be cautious, because it will suck you right into a dimly lit nightclub in the mid-eighties. Interestingly enough, this is a situation in which one would be vulnerable, in a large room filled with temptations and blurred intentions, and that classic house feel is almost better fit than the original hip-hop version of the track. R&B songstress Tinashe’s raspy and subtly soulful vocals are the perfect hook for this remix, and I think that I might be a little addicted to it, and that dimly lit vibe that it creates already.
