Everyone needs a mentor to guide them through their craft. Luke Skywalker had Obi-Wan Kenobi and Rocky Balboa had Mickey, but sometimes these archetypical relationships result in some bad blood. Jaz-O was slaying the competition in the late 80's with his signature tongue twisting techniques and brought along a wet behind the ears emcee named Jay Z to act as his apprentice, but a series of feuds over the years caused a riff between the rappers. But can Jaz rekindle his experiences in the game with another rapper and reclaim the throne?

Enter Mic Handz, an emcee who's been rocking the underground for quite some time. Where as Jaz's flow is much more relaxed and toned down, Handz comes armed to the teeth with a verbal assault towards those who say the New York scene has cooled off on "Bright Lights." A visual treat from Donald Robinson Cole, who keeps things entertaining with a number of slick shots that jump from light to dark, the video is proof that NY's still got things under control. "Bright Lights" will be featured on T.H.E.M. Recordings upcoming label compilation Killing The Game, which is set to drop in the beginning of April.
