One of the biggest draws to Dirtybird nights is the plethora of new music that you can only hear at the legendary label's parties. Last year, the crew extended their influence around the globe, curating entire festival stages and even landing an Ibiza weekly residency at Sankey's. One big piece to the label's family is J.Phlip, the midwestern engineer turned techno bootyshaker, not to mention first lady of the Dirtybird crew.
After closing out 2013 as support on Claude VonStroke's Urban Animal tour, J.Phlip releases a track that's been on the radar of all label loyalists for the past few months. Since then, it's been a staple in many of the team's live sets, specifically setting off the disco in this year's edition of Holy Ship!!! Heard in full on the Claude VonStroke Essential Mix in late November, "Say My Name" is as gritty and mean as we've come to expect from Jessi, with deep, stabbing bass and a vocal sample that she still keeps a secret.
