Following The Field’s sublime September 2013 LP, Cupid’s Head, Kompakt is set to drop an exquisitely crafted collection of remixes on January 20th.
A mesmeric morph of the Swede’s signature ambient techno and kinetic loops, LA based SONNS brings a dancier pendulum knock to an innately hypnotic piece. Otherwise known as Alexandre Mouracade, he rounds and pounds out the bassline into a grabbing affair, fat and smudged, mounting The Field’s transient vocal echo with rubbery chords. Etched with a range of electro claps and skitters, like a labyrinth, SONNS’ rework persists to turn corners until we’re lead closed-eyed from a deep zone, into the majestic light found only in the Fjords.
